′Antara′ is becoming the first choice to maintain differences in childbirth among Indian women. It is a temporary method of contraception and gaining popularity due to the growth in usage each year. Between April and December 2022, 11897 doses were given to those in need.
According to a health official declaration made on Friday, ′Antara′, a trimester contraceptive injectable, has become women′s first choice among new contraceptive options. After two years of marriage, the three-year gap between the first child and the second can be readily maintained by administering this injection every three months.
Dr. Alok Ranjan, the chief medical officer, said that the ′Antara′ vaccination is accessible at 414 centers in the Kanpur district. This facility was first made available at the District Women′s Hospital, where women frequently received vaccinations throughout the Covid period.
Further, SK Singh, the Nodal officer said that it is wise to use innovative family planning methods to avoid issues like repeated abortions, hospital visits, fragile health, etc. He added there are currently two novel temporary contraception methods available: intra injection and Chhaya tablets. Using contraceptives can help to maintain the difference in the birth of two children; it can also help to prevent cancer and anaemia. He also mentioned that for receiving the injection, ASHA worker and the woman beneficiary both receive Rs 100.
Beneficiaries are completely satisfied with the ′Antara′ procedures and are relieved by this temporary solution that has eliminated their concern about unintended pregnancies, without any side effects.
